Sparco Pro ADV Super Carbon

Priced at over $5k, we probably won't see too many of these hit the U.S. market. But the technology behind it is still pretty amazing. Yes, it is a full Carbon Fiber shelled Pro ADV racing seat. But it also weighs in at over 40lbs. So what gives? Well, the Super Carbon was manufactured specifically to the FIA's new World Rally specifications; needs to NOT fail when a car cartwheels off a dirt road into a stand of trees at 100mph). So far, this is the ONLY seat that has surpassed these requirements without the need for a back brace.

How does it pass? The weight tells of this seat's overbuilt engineering. It also uses massive mounting bolts (8mm).

Want one? Turn around time is 5-6 weeks. Payment up front, of course ;)

Hi Steve - I note you have been a Racetech reseller as well as a number of other Seat products. You should be aware and so should your customers that Racetech Seats was the first company to pass the new FIA spec and has acyually been working with the FIA Institute since 2004 to develop this new spec.Racetech has passed 2 seats so far past this new spec.
RT9129HR made from Kevlar/Carbon and Carbon and weighs in at only 22lbs - and yes this will run at around $6000. Note this is about 18lbs lighter than the Sparco product. To help the not so well funded racer Racetech has also passed the test with a Predominatntly fibreglass seat weighing in at 33lbs and costing less than $4000. So as you can see Racetech have lighter & better prices product - also arguably safer too. Regards David Black

Thank you for the clarification. However, to the best of my knowledge, all Racetech seats still require a back brace in order the pass the test. This might be a moot point, though, as any self-respecting rally car builder is likely to put a back-brace into the car regardless!

Yes these seat models are designed with back mounts as this is the safest way to mount a seat which is expected to take the loads of the new seat standard. This new test pushes about 3 ton's on the seat in a lateral direction.
Chris Atkinson in the Subaru WRC car at Rally GB recently tested our seats extensively in the feild. They both walked away with Chris having only minor head injury after roll cage came in and hit his helmet. This was 100mph crash at night. The seat details are on www.racetechseats.com
